Event Posting: Coping with Chaos

The HPHA is posting this free event sponsored by OLC Church

“Coping With the Chaos”

OLC is sponsoring a special program this spring to help our community cope with and combat the current economic environment.

This is a five part series which will run on Sunday afternoons at 5:00 p.m. in the OLC church basement.

The proposed session topics are as follows:
April 26, 2009 – Life Coaching
May 10, 2009 – Meditation and Yoga
May 31, 2009 – Nutrition and Wellness
June 7, 2009 – Financial Investment Concerns
June 21, 2009 – Art Therapy

The program is free and is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

The HPHA is posting this message in support of the Jersey City Police Department

Volunteer to make a difference in our community

Please join the Jersey City Police Department in Operation CeaseFire to create a true partnership with the JCPD, community-based organizations, andneighborhood residents.

Operation CeaseFire Outreach volunteers will be the vital links between law enforcement and community residents, helping to change both the behaviors and thinking of high risk individuals to stop them from becoming involved in gun violence.

Community Outreach Volunteers will serve as a catalyst for change by sending the message that our community will not tolerate violence.

Jersey City Families for Better Schools wants to remind everyone that it will be holding its third annual Jersey City Board of Education candidate forum to be hosted by Augie Torres.

This is an opportunity for you to meet the candidates and ask them questions. Information submitted by the candidates will be posted to the JC Schools' list as well.

April 14 Jersey City Planning Board Meeting

Please be advised that the Jersey City Planning Board will consider adoption of a revised Circulation Element of the Jersey City Master Plan (a.k.a. Jersey City Mobility 2050) at its Tuesday, April 14, 2009 meeting. This meeting will convene at 5:30 PM in Council Chambers of City Hall, 280 Grove Street, Second Floor, Jersey City, NJ.

The revised Circulation Element is available for download from the project website www.jerseycitymobility2050.com

Paper copies of the revised Circulation Element are available for review at the Division of City Planning located at 30 Montgomery Street, Suite 1400, Jersey City, NJ and at the Office of the City Clerk located in City Hall, 280 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ.
