United Water Issues Boil Water Advisory for Jersey City
Customers Must Boil Water Until Further Notice

United Water has issued a precautionary boil water advisory for Jersey City following a water main break on a 24-inch transmission main. Customers in Jersey City are advised to boil their water at a rolling boil for one minute for the following uses: drinking, cooking, baking,making ice cubes, taking medication, brushing teeth, washing food, mixing baby formula, mixing juices or drinks, feeding pets or other consumption.

The boil water advisory is in effect until further notice.

The break is on Route 7 at the Charlotte Circle. United Water emergency crews are on the scene and working to make the repairs as quickly as possible.

Customers may have no water, low water pressure or discolored water. Customers who have water are asked to use water for essential purpose until the repairs are completed.
