Frozen Zone *UPDATED*

Update:

70 Greene Fire Remediation Update

At a meeting last night (10/10/07) of city officials and neighborhood representatives we were informed that the fire clean up will continue for several weeks. The major impacts to our neighborhood will be the closure of Greene Street on Friday for the installation of protective bridging that will extend the full width of Greene Street. This bridging will allow the safe removal of the remaining debris without additional closures of the street. The bridging will be removed once the debris is cleared.

The sidewalk bridging currently installed on the west side of Greene Street will remain until the completion of the project.

We anticipate one, possibly two Saturday work days (to be discussed with the neighborhood and approved by the construction official) but otherwise the work will proceed ONLY during normal weekday working hours - 7 AM to dusk or 6PM.

We will pass along additional updates as they become available.

To whom it may concern,

The fire at 77 Hudson st (Hunter Roberts's construction) created a need to secure a frozen zone from Washington St east to Hudson St, Morris St north to York St. The frozen zone will be implemented for at least the next 24 hours; in the interim construction workers will be removing and safeguarding burnt woodpilings. Police officers are on site; so if you have a concern please bring forward to the nearest on-siteofficer/supervisor or call 547-5477.
