Tap water may be discolored
Residents of Downtown Jersey City may have low water pressure or discolored water this week, due to the replacement of a broken valve, United Water announced.
The company, which runs the city's water system, said the water is safe to drink but residents may want to let it run clear before drinking it, cooking with it or washing with it.
The area most likely to be impacted includes the streets between the New Jersey Turnpike and Washington Street and between Grand Street and Newark Avenue.
Customers can call 1-800-575- 4433 for more information.
